True’s recent successful bid for the 5G spectrum in the 2600 MHz and 26 GHz frequency ranges integrates perfectly with its 700 MHz and other existing frequency ranges and will considerably enhance its network potential, Suphakit Vintanadit, ground chief commercial officer at True Corporation said this week. The Group has also joined with local and international partners including China Mobile in developing such digital technologies as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and smart internet of things (Smart IoT) to enable it to provide a digital ecosystem to support users in the country.
The first 5G citizen and 5G services will be available at 11 of its shops, True Sphere and 4 MRTs in the near future.
Kittipong Veerataecha, chief brand & communications officer at True Corporation, said True expects to soon offer its users a complete digital lifestyle as well as provide the 5G network for all Thais.
By next month, True will have spent Bt200 million on branding, experiences-marketing and activities for 5G services. As a first step, it will offer 5G services to support five industries, namely agricultural, healthcare & wellness, education, environment & sustainability and security.
“True 5G will create a fundamental base to enhance Thailand’s potential and create sustainable competitiveness in the new economy,” said Kittipong.
